Bright Minds. Bold Futures. Powered by STEAM

Introduction:

At Campion, STEAM brings Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics together to spark curiosity, nurture creativity, and raise ambition for every learner. STEAM is not just a group of subjects, it’s a culture of exploration, innovation, and opportunity.

 Our Vision:

To create an inclusive STEAM culture at Campion where curiosity ignites, creativity thrives, and ambition leads - empowering every student to imagine bold futures and achieve their full potential.

 Our Mission:

Through STEAM, we will:

·         Inspire curiosity through real-world projects and challenges.

·         Nurture creativity by placing the Arts alongside Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.

·         Grow ambition by building pathways into higher education, leadership, and careers.

·         Be inclusive, so every learner can thrive, build resilience, develop responsibility and grow in skills and character.

·         Celebrate achievement through showcases, partnerships, and community pride.

 Our Flagship Programme: STEAM Pioneers

This year, we are proud to introduce our first cohort of STEAM Pioneers, a group of Year 7 students leading the way on Campion’s STEAM journey. They will take part in innovative projects, work with inspiring role models, and showcase STEAM across our community. As pioneers, they will set the standard and inspire others, helping to build a culture where every student can thrive through STEAM.

STEAM in Action: STEM On Track

Last year, Campion students took on the STEM On Track challenge, designing and building their very own go-kart. After months of teamwork, creativity, and engineering skill, the Speed Demons raced at the National Finals and proudly brought home the Best Build Award.

The project was more than a race. It gave students the chance to:

  • Apply science, technology, engineering, and maths in a real-world challenge.
  • Work as a team to problem-solve and innovate under pressure.
  • Showcase their talent on a national stage.

We shared highlights on our social media channels, and you can now relive the journey through our photo gallery and videos below.

 Brilliant Club: Scholars Programme

Selected Campion students will take part in the Scholars Programme as part of the Brilliant Club. Through this initiative, pupils will work closely with PhD researchers to explore STEAM topics in depth, experience university-style learning, and complete an academic assignment marked to university standards.

The programme offers students the chance to:

  • Stretch their thinking beyond the classroom.
  • Gain confidence in academic writing and critical analysis.
  • Graduate with feedback and grades aligned to university expectations.

This is an exciting opportunity to build aspiration, develop scholarly skills, and prepare for future study at top universities.

  Learning Sectors Programme:

Through our partnership with the British Council, Campion students are participating in the Learning Sectors Programme an international initiative that connects schools across the globe.

Our students will be twinned with an international school to:

  • Work collaboratively on STEAM projects.
  • Share perspectives and ideas across cultures.
  • Explore global challenges through science, technology, engineering, arts, and maths.

This programme not only deepens students’ STEAM learning, but also broadens their horizons, develops global citizenship, and builds confidence in cross-cultural collaboration.
