Welcome from the Principal

It is a privilege to lead Campion School. What makes Campion special is much more than what can be measured in examination results or captured in a prospectus. It is the ambition we have for every young person, the dedication of our staff, the opportunities we create and the strength of a community in which relationships matter and every student should feel that they belong. It is a school where academic ambition sits alongside personal development, where young people are encouraged to discover what they are capable of, and where we are united by a shared commitment to Creating Brilliant Futures.

Our vision is to foster an inclusive community where every student thrives, enriches their skills and character, and achieves academic excellence. We believe that every young person deserves an ambitious education, excellent teaching and the support and encouragement to overcome barriers, develop their talents and pursue their aspirations. Through a broad and ambitious curriculum, rich extracurricular opportunities and a strong culture of care, we want our students to leave Campion not only with qualifications that open doors, but with the confidence, resilience and character to make the most of the opportunities ahead of them.

Our recent Ofsted inspection in April 2026 recognised the many strengths of our school, with expected standards achieved across six inspection areas and strong standards in our post-16 provision. Inspectors described Campion as a “calm, welcoming and purposeful school environment”, highlighting the “strong, positive relationships between staff and pupils” that underpin our culture. They recognised our “ambitious, broad and balanced” curriculum, our effective approach to safeguarding and the positive, respectful culture experienced by our students.

Inspectors also recognised the quality of our sixth form, noting the “ambitious expectations for all post-16 students” and how well our young people are prepared for their next steps in education, employment or training. Importantly, they recognised that pupils feel “understood, valued and included”. For me, this is at the heart of what makes Campion special: a school where academic ambition goes hand in hand with care, belonging and the determination to help every young person thrive.

These findings matter because they reflect what we strive to achieve every day: a school where young people feel safe, valued and included; where teaching challenges them to think deeply and achieve well; where additional support helps them overcome barriers; and where opportunities beyond the classroom help them discover new interests, build friendships and develop their character. As inspectors recognised, pupils feel “understood, valued and included”. For me, that sense of belonging is fundamental to ensuring every student can thrive.

Our values of Respect, Integrity, Resilience and Ambition guide everything we do. We encourage our students to show respect for themselves and others, act with integrity, persevere when faced with challenges and have the confidence to aim high. We celebrate their achievements, champion their individuality and continually seek to improve the education and experiences we provide.

I am incredibly proud of Campion, our students, our staff and the families who make up our community. We have much to celebrate, but our ambition does not stand still. We will continue to challenge ourselves, raise aspirations and build on our strengths so that every young person who joins us has the opportunity to flourish.

Together, as Team Campion, we are creating brilliant futures.
