On Friday 27th March, we will be celebrating My Culture Day alongside other United Learning secondary schools. This special day will celebrate the rich diversity of our school community through inspiring speakers, workshops, performances, food from around the world and a creative culture competition. Students are encouraged to celebrate their heritage, traditions and identity while learning about the cultures of others. International Women’s Day is celebrated annually on March 8 to honour women’s achievements and advocate for gender equality worldwide. International Women’s Day is a global observance dedicated to celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women while highlighting ongoing challenges in gender equality. The UN theme for 2026, “Rights. Justice. Action. For ALL Women and Girls”, emphasises dismantling structural barriers, enforcing legal protections, and promoting equal access to education, work, and justice. Globally, women currently hold only 64% of the legal rights of men, and at the current pace, it could take centuries to achieve full gender parity.
