Year 9 Options
We have now reached that time of year when we ask Year 9 students to consider which subjects they wish to study next year. Students are being given information on the subjects that will be available at KS4 via a google classroom. PSHCE lessons and assemblies will be used to share information and give opportunities for students to consider their future career routes and how to achieve their goals. In addition, information will be provided on this site relating to option choices and the process to be followed.
From Monday 20th March students will receive a leaflet outlining the options process and option blocks for subjects. An assembly will be held on 21st March to give further guidance. Options Evening is on the 22nd March, running from 5pm-7pm in the Main Hall and F Block. Please check details in the letter sent to parents Wednesday 15th March.
The preference form will be sent out to parents electronically on 22nd March. It will be a google form. We can provide paper copies if needed, but this has to be signed by you. The form must be completed by Friday 31st March. After this date we will check all forms to ensure students have expressed a preference for courses that will enable them to succeed. In addition, we need to ensure that groups are economically viable and that we have sufficient staff to run courses.
